ENGLISH HAMMERED FARTHINGS, THE TWO TOWER DIFFERENCES OF BMC 191


Two different types of Tower Privy Mark appear on coins attributted to BMC 191
One is large or wide conforming to the illustration in C.W.Pecks book, whilst the other is small or narrow.
Both types are shown in the table below with die numbers arbitrary and for dentification only.


Basic description of BMC 191

Charles.1 Richmond Type 1c
Single arched crown on both sides, 9 round jewels on circlet
Two sceptres saltire through crown on obverse
Eagle Headed Harp with 6 strings on reverse
Privy mark, Tower, top centre on obverse only


Punctuations where present are represented by standard keyboard characters.
The semi colon is used for apostrophie stop
The stop is only represented at the bottom, although sometimes it is in the middle or top
